We specialise in organising English language programmes and tours for school groups, as well as luxury wine and golf tours. Meet our directors
BYARD JAMES
Director
Byard is a New Zealander, born in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. He was a language teacher in New Zealand and Japan for over twenty years before establishing Discoverer. He has worked in, and is connected with many of Auckland’s best language schools. In addition, he has worked as a volunteer coordinator, working with people from many different countries, and as a tour leader, taking students of all ages all over New Zealand. Starting Discoverer was a logical progression, and allowed him to continue working with the schools and tour operators he already had established relationships with. Byard is based in Auckland and coordinates the bookings for all our schools and tours in New Zealand. He speaks Japanese, loves photography, classic cars and meeting people from around the globe.
JIN MENG
Co-Director
Jin is a Bejing local who has lived in New Zealand and travels there frequently. She’s studied in the UK and New Zealand and worked in human resource management and entrepreneur management in China. She set up her own company in China (JLTD) with the purpose of working with Discoverer Ltd, bringing students, tourists and golfers to experience the country she fell in love with. Jin works as a marketing coordinator in Beijing, and as a translator and guide for our Chinese customers.
